Premier Screening of a Fascinating Documentary
Thursday 13th April 2017 at 7.30pm
Macduff Marine Aquarium has been chosen by a North East filmmaker as the venue for a premier screening of his 7-year long documentary project following the struggle of the Scottish Salmon.
Possibly for the first time, the life-long struggle of the Atlantic salmon has been documented on film from the North East of Scotland.
Concluding a 7-year, self-funded project, supported by the Boards and Trusts of the rivers of the North East of Scotland, Aberdeenshire-based filmmaker Bernard Martin will premier ‘To The Journey’s End – the Life Cycle of the Atlantic Salmon’ at the aquarium on Thursday 13th April 2017 to an invited audience. Intended as an educational resource, it is hoped that schools and colleges across the North East will use the film as a valuable learning tool to inspire local students to think about the conservation of the species.
We’re absolutely delighted that Bernard has chosen the aquarium as a venue to launch his film. We have a short version running for visitors to see in the aquarium – with thanks to Bernard and his company Film Ocean for sponsoring the video monitor for us to view it. The footage is incredible. After its launch, the film will be incorporated into our schools programme here at the aquarium to showcase these fabulous fish.
