Daily Talks and Feeding Shows
The programme of talks and feeding shows changes daily so please check at Reception when you arrive to see what’s on and when.
Kelp Reef Feeding
Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm.
Watch divers hand feed the fish in the central kelp reef exhibit and enjoy a talk from one of our Marine Masters. If it’s busy we will give out tickets for this show during the day – you can call ahead to book a space.
Dive shows are not guaranteed – they can be cancelled at short notice for health and safety reasons.
Sandy Sea Floor Feeding
Hear all about Moray Firth sharks and rays, as well as flatfish and other seafloor dwellers, whilst watching them enjoying a good feed.
Octopuses are boneless, 8-legged creatures of the deep – so different from all other animals they could almost be aliens! Discover what makes an octopus tick at this fascinating talk.
Warning – the octopus is often fed a live crab which some may find upsetting.
Touch Pool Fun
What does a starfish eat? Is a hermit crab shy? Get a feel for seashore life at this interactive session with our knowledgeable Marine Masters.
Seahorses and Pipefish Feeding
Seahorses and their pipefish cousins take life slowly, hanging out in seaweeds and eel grass. Learn about these endearing fish and the challenges they face to survive.
Jellies and Anemones
There is more to a jellyfish than first meets the eye. Find out how these simple sea animals make a success of being a blob!
Coastal Habitats Feeding
Feeding time at the estuary, rock pools and harbour exhibits takes place throughout the week. Look for all the little fish that come out of their usual hidey-holes for a tasty snack!
