A typical school visit to the aquarium involves…
Welcome at Reception – introduction to your aquarium guide, some dos and don’ts for the day.
Explore the aquarium – accompanied by your aquarium guide who will give you all sorts of information relating to the exhibits, habitats and animals you meet.
Talk at the touch pools – get a feel for seashore life and learn more about seashore animals’ adaptations for survival.
Talk and/or video presentation in the main audio-visual theatre relating to the education programme chosen.
Time in the gift shop to purchase souvenirs from as little as 40p.
Additional quizzes and activities available.

We would recommend that a visit, including participation in an education programme, lasts approximately 2 hours.

There are no facilities for eating at the aquarium and food is not allowed in the exhibit area. There is a grassy area with picnic tables outside. Please contact the aquarium if you need to make lunch arrangements in the event of a cold or rainy day.

With the excellent programmes on offer, the fascinating displays and our knowledgeable and friendly staff, we can promise you a great day out, as well as a fun learning experience.
