CHRISTMAS FISHES!
If you visited the aquarium the weekend before Christmas, you may have been lucky enough to meet a special guest who was here for a short time.
Santa Claus himself came to dive into our kelp reef exhibit to hand out some seasonal treats to our fish! Scuba diving in the aquarium's kelp reef exhibit is one of Santa's favourite things to do at Christmas and he always takes time out of his busy schedule to see his finned friends. The fish certainly enjoy the attention and especially like to nibble his beard!
We had lots of festive fun to celebrate Santa's visit, with a Christmas quiz, face painting and Christmassy arts and crafts!
In the run-up to the holidays we ran a schools competition to ask children to draw us a fishy Christmas card. The response was a amazing and we had hundreds of entries to choose from! The winner was from Maud Primary School, P5 class, who drew a cheery octopus with lots of Christmas stockings! The picture will be used as the Aquarium's Christmas card next year.
