Join us this Easter holiday to celebrate our newest additions!
A heap of bite sized predators, all hatched right here at the aquarium from our breeding sharks and skates.
We have a brand new Shark Nursery and Hatchery thanks to kind sponsorship from Taqa and the Friends of Macduff Marine Aquarium (FOMMA).
With these new displays you can now see the entire life cycle of three shark species! We have breeding populations of Lesser Spotted Catsharks (Dogfish) Bull Huss, aka Greater Spotted Catsharks and Thornback Skates. They all lay eggcases, or mermaid purses, in their habitats which are collected by the divers and incubated until they hatch. Hear all about it during one of our Meet the Baby Shark talks, available at 12 noon and 3pm daily throughout the Easter holidays.
