Give Snorkelling a Go!

Have you ever wanted to see beneath the waves first hand? It’s easier than you think, just try snorkelling!

Experience the wonder beneath the waves and immerse yourself in Scotland's living seas... Snorkelling is an easy and accessible sport that allows you to appreciate marine life in a new way.

We were really excited to launch the Moray Firth Snorkel Trail a couple of years ago and since then we have been encouraging visitors and locals alike to get out there and Dive In! The Moray Firth Snorkel Trail was created in partnership with the East Grampian Coastal Partnership and the Scottish Wildlife Trust and is part of a wider Scottish network of snorkel trails.

The Moray Firth Snorkel Trail includes six sites along our coast that showcase the amazing diversity of the Moray Firth habitats. These sites are bursting with marine life and you could see a variety of marine life from small sea slugs, sponges and anemones right up to seals, dolphins, and maybe even whales! One of our snorkel sites has been featured in a brand-new Snorkelling Britain guidebook!

Before you go snorkelling, make sure you check the sea conditions and read the snorkel safety Information included with the trail so that you know how to be a safe and responsible snorkeller. Never go alone and always let someone on shore know your plans and when you expect to be finished. Make sure you have a well-fitting wetsuit with boots, hood and gloves to keep you cosy and pack warm clothing to change into after.

If you are not feeling ready to give it a go without a bit of guidance, we recommend booking a guided snorkel session to build your confidence. You can book a guided snorkel session as part of a small group or as a one-on-one session with our good friend and former colleague Dr Lauren Smith founder of Saltwater Life.
